On the 26th October, Mitchell travelled to Belgium to compete in the Wase Cup, an international tournament bringing many gymnasts from different countries together to compete over the weekend. This year, Mitchell’s third year competing at the tournament, he was invited to compete alongside the Belgian team.

On Saturday 27th October, the all around and team final events were held. Mitchell had a steady competition, as did his team securing second place. Individually, Mitchell finished second overall competing against gymnasts from the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Belgium. The scores which were submitted also counted towards qualifying for the individual apparatus finals. The top six gymnasts from the Junior/Senior category along with the top two gymnasts from the Youth category on each event would proceed to compete on Sunday. Mitchell qualified for the Floor, Parallel Bars and High Bar finals and was the reserve for the Pommel Horse final.

On Sunday 28th October, Mitchell competed in all of his apparatus finals. The competition was tough with competitors coming from the Ukraine national squad. Mitchell finished placing 3rd on Parallel Bars and 3rd on the High Bar.
